About Me

I have been in IT infrastructure for over 15 years, I got into ‘hacking’ at a fairly young age, I really enjoyed it, I remember importing the ‘Hackers Black Book’ from Germany when I was 14, since then my career has been very successful in the Infrastructure space, I became Head of IT Services at 22 years of age, supporting a couple of thousand users, I now lead a team of infrastructure engineers for a national Construction and Civil Engineering company that turns over £1 Billion a year.

I am aiming to move into the Cyber Security field so have been spending a lot of time over the last few years training and researching different tools and techniques as well as getting some certifications in the infosec space, they include:

CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cyber Security Analyst+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker, ISO 27001 Foundation and more recently my CISSP. I am currently working towards my OSCP.

I started this blog for 2 reasons, the first is just to document my journey, from my studies I know the best way to learn is to try and teach it to somebody else, the infosec community is full of people giving back, so I also wanted this to be my way of giving back.

The second reason is I do a lot of CTF/online challenges that take me some time to work out, and I remember back to when I didn’t have the knowledge to get through them and just hoped to find an article walking me through it so that I could understand and develop through following along, but these are not always easy to come by, or simply do not go into enough detail or miss vital steps assuming you knew how to do the ‘missing bit’, I try to include as much detail and as many screenshots as I can so that anyone can follow along.

I hope this is useful to someone, leave a comment if any of my posts help you out, always good to hear that the work I am doing is helping someone.
